St Croix out of the blank business

St. Croix has stopped offering rod blanks to the custom rod building public. They will make a select few available but only through their ghost company Rod Geeks. No more distributors, no more blanks. Take it to the bank. They informed the Guild of this over the weekend. And if that wasn't enough th...

Re: Silvia Davis can.....

I did.... they said she loaded them up with a bunch of colored pigments and promised they would be hot items. They paid and then never sold any. She refused to take them back. Get the fuck in line.... she took the Guild for $4K on her "show" and that was almost eight years ago and still has not repa...

They kept the conclave a secret!

Well they got the website revamped and I found this: "The National Conclave is held once a year, normally in the first part of the year. A policy has been adopted whereby the Conclave location will be moved to various locations around the country in an attempt to bring the Conclaves closer to member...

They did it again

So each year we here dealers and mfgs say that they are not going back to k-mans show and then what do they do but go back to the show again. Unless they wake up and stop going nobody else is ever going to be able to get a large rod buiding show off the ground. k-man has a monopoly on the custom rod...

Re: THREE MONTHS

Yeah but see, the thing is, we have heard this song and dance every time a new group of officers takes over. This club or organization has been in business now for something like 18 or 19 years it reached a peak during its first two or three years and has been going downhill ever since. Nobody in th...

THREE MONTHS

I has now been over THREE MONTHS since the Custom Rod Builders Guild Forum has had a message posted. The officers and members have given up and handed the rod building organization and event world over to Kirkman. Great going guys. Way to show some enthusiasm for your organization.

Re: k-man's book

Damn...... just took a look at Pud Hole's book.... wall to wall advertisements for their products on every page. I can see where that one's going.

Best to go back to Clemens book all the way. Still relevant.

Re: k-man's book

Actually K-man never sold them to begin with. He wrote it for another company and they sold it through all the dealers. But you can bet some money got into his pocket for writing it. I was told an upfront commission of $100K and then couple bucks for each one they sold. The rod builders have funded ...
